Ingrid Rivera was really sprayed

Ingrid Marie Rivera wasn’t lying about being pepper sprayed at the Miss Puerto Rico pageant 2008 on November 24th.

The police have now found who they think is a suspect- a pageant volunteer. At the pageant Rivera complained to police that her gown and bathing suit was sprayed with pepper spray, forcing her to apply bags of ice to her face and body in while she was off the stage. She was able to continue with the pageant with a smile on her face and was crowned Miss Puerto Rico.

Beauty pageants are notoriously fierce competition down in PR. So it would be no surprise that Rivera, who has won other pageants before, would be a target.
