Apple increases the storage capacity on existing iPads, effectively cutting prices

Apple managed to pack its two-hour event on Wednesday full of exciting announcements , but the company still wasn’t able to fit everything into the keynote address. That’s why we’re just now learning that the iPad lineup received a minor refresh of its own, increasing the storage options to line up with those of the iPhone 7 . Apple has done away with the 16GB model altogether, replacing the three previous tiers with 32GB, 128GB and 256GB models instead. It turns out that the iPad will be receiving the same treatment. On Apple’s site , the 9.7-inch iPad Pro now costs $599 for the 32GB model, $699 for the 128GB model and $799 for the 256GB model. Similarly, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro costs $799/$899/$999 for the same three storage sizes.
