Gay Penguins Move the Web

The penguins paired up in captivity in the Toronto Zoo. All signs point to their being a cute couple: They groom each other, bray at each other at night, and are always standing together, according to the Toronto Star. But Buddy and Pedro are also both male, and because they have, as the zoo puts it, “top-notch genes,” they’re being separated to mate with females. As ABC reports, there are only 250,000 of the African penguins left, so it’s hoped that the two lovebirds can do their part to help propagate the species. Not to worry — zookeepers
